Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 May 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pinbluu ("Pinbluu," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect your email address, display name, username, and (optionally) profile photo. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
Content you create
We collect the content you submit to the Service, including:
- Spots (places you pin), including photos, videos, captions, location coordinates, and any tags or descriptions you add
- Comments, likes, and bookmarks
- Direct messages and trip plans you create or share
- Reports you submit about other users or content
Location data
If you grant permission, the Service uses your device's location to:
- Tag spots with their geographic location when you create them
- Show you spots near your current location
You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; the Service will continue to function with reduced features.
Camera and photo library
When you grant permission, the Service accesses your camera and photo library so you can capture or select images and videos to share. We only access media you actively choose; we do not scan your library without consent.
Device and usage information
We automatically collect technical information such as your device model, operating system version, app version, language and region settings, IP address, push notification tokens, and crash logs. We use this to operate, debug, and improve the Service.
Information from advertisers
If you create paid promotional content ("ads") on Pinbluu, we collect the content of those ads, your targeting selections, your wallet balance, and your spending history.
2. How We Use Information
- Operate the Service — to display your content to other users, deliver notifications, and personalize your feed
- Communicate with you — including service announcements, security alerts, and (with your consent) marketing messages
- Improve the Service — analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, and develop new features
- Safety and integrity — detect and prevent fraud, abuse, harassment, and violations of our Terms
- Legal compliance — comply with applicable laws, court orders, and government requests
3. Who We Share Information With
Service providers
We share information with vendors who help us operate the Service:
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, cloud functions, push notifications, analytics, crash reporting) — operated by Google LLC
- Mux Inc. (video processing and streaming) — videos uploaded to the Service are processed by Mux
- Anthropic PBC (AI trip-planning assistant) — when you generate a trip plan, the destinations and preferences you provide are sent to Anthropic to produce the plan
- Apple Push Notification Service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — to deliver push notifications
Other users
Content you post (spots, comments, profile information) is visible to other users according to the visibility settings you choose. Public spots may be discoverable by anyone using the Service.
Legal and safety
We may disclose information to comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect the safety of our users and the public.
Business transfers
If Pinbluu is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Your Choices and Rights
Access and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the Service (Profile → Settings → Delete Account). When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, spots, comments, messages, and other content within 30 days. Some information may be retained longer if required by law or to enforce our Terms.
Blocking and reporting
You can block other users and report content that violates our Terms directly within the Service.
Notifications and permissions
You can manage notification, location, and camera permissions in your device settings.
Regional rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local laws (such as the right to access, correct, port, or restrict processing of your personal data). To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@pinbluu.com.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion, we retain residual information only as long as required for legal, security, or anti-abuse purposes, typically no more than 90 days.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), authenticated access to backend services, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International Data Transfers
Pinbluu and its service providers operate globally. Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards to protect such transfers.
8. Children
Pinbluu is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect information from children under these ages. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under the applicable age, we will delete that information. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact privacy@pinbluu.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy reflects the latest revision.
